In August 2026 the European Commission unconditionally cleared the US$4 billion acquisition of joint control of atNorth by CPP Investments and Equinix, following a Phase I review.  Equinix operates data centres and connectivity services worldwide.  atNorth is a Nordic data centre provider, specialising in high-density colocation and built-to-suit facilities.

RBB supported Equinix throughout pre-notification and Phase I, working alongside competition counsel Slaughter and May.  RBB provided economic evidence on market definition, market shares, competitive dynamics, and closeness of competition.  Reflecting the dynamic nature of the industry, the Commission’s decision emphasised the Parties’ forward-looking market share analyses.
