Mara Galben Cristea

Mara is a Senior Associate based in RBB’s Brussels office.

Since joining RBB in 2022, she has advised clients on a range of competition matters, focusing on merger control cases before the European Commission and various national competition authorities.

Mara holds an MSc in Economics from KU Leuven. A Romanian national, Mara is fluent in Romanian, English and German.

Mara has provided economic advice on a variety of cases, with experience of mergers raising horizontal and vertical concerns. She has advised on cases before the European Commission and several national competition authorities, including those in the UK, Austria, Sweden and Brazil.

She has experience in a wide range of sectors such as advertising, software, food products, construction materials and energy financial markets.

She has also contributed to a study for the EC focusing on ex-post merger assessments of future entry, expansion and imports in EU merger decisions.
