In recent weeks, Paramount Skydance's acquisition of Warner Bros Discovery has been approved by the European Commission (with remedies relating to Paramount Skydance's JV with Universal Pictures in film distribution) and the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (without conditions). With recent announcements in Mexico and Chile, the merger has now been cleared by regulators and governments representing 68 jurisdictions, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, South Korea.

RBB has assisted Latham & Watkins in supporting Paramount Skydance's filings in every jurisdiction outside the US. RBB made a number of economic submissions addressing, among other matters, market shares, the Parties’ competitive positioning, the dynamic nature of global entertainment markets, pro-competitive benefits arising from the combination of two SVOD services, incentives to invest in theatrical releases, and potential coordinated effects. We continue to support the transaction in a small number of ex-US jurisdictions where non-suspensory reviews are ongoing.
