The EC Commission has cleared Nokia’s acquisition of digital map data supplier Navteq unconditionally after an in-depth Phase II investigation - seehttp://europa.eu/rapid/pressReleasesAction.do reference=IP/08/1085&format=HTML&aged=0&language=EN&guiLanguage=en.This vertical merger provided one of the first tests of the new Commission guidelines on the analysis of vertical mergers and involved detailed economic assessment and modelling of the input foreclosure concerns raised by various third parties.
