On 18 September 2026, the Bundeskartellamt cleared Kemira’s acquisition of Sidra Wasserchemie following a Phase II, in-depth investigation (Hauptprüfverfahren). Kemira and Sidra overlap in the production of inorganic coagulants for water and wastewater treatment.
RBB supported Kemira and their external legal counsel Morgan, Lewis & Bockius throughout Phase II by preparing economic evidence on geographic market definition, market shares, closeness of competition between the Parties and capacity constraints. The evidence demonstrated that the transaction would not give rise to horizontal concerns.
