Raúl Villacorta is a Senior Associate based in RBB’s Madrid office. He holds an MSc in Competition, Regulation and Markets from the Barcelona School of Economics.
Since joining RBB in 2024, he has advised clients on a range of competition matters, including mergers assessments in Europe and Latin America, as well as damages litigation cases.
Raúl has advised high-profile clients before the European Commission and national competition authorities, including the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), Mexico’s Comisión Nacional Antimonopolio and Peru’s Indecopi, as well as other national regulators and courts.
His experience covers a variety of competition matters, including horizontal and non-horizontal mergers, in-depth Phase II merger investigations, cartel investigations, anticompetitive agreements, damages litigations and regulatory issues.
Raúl’s sector experience includes sports, media and entertainment, automotive and heavy vehicles, consumer hygiene products, payment systems and financial services, construction chemicals and materials, industrial and automotive coatings, and elevators and escalators, as well as other regulated sectors. Prior to joining RBB, Raúl worked as a competition economist at Macroconsult (Perú).
A Peruvian national, Raúl is fluent in Spanish and English.
