John is an Associate Principal in RBB’s Paris office. He has extensive experience in applied economics, with a particular focus on the competitive assessment of mergers, antitrust investigations and regulatory issues.
Before joining RBB, John spent eight years as an economist at the French Competition Authority (Autorité de la Concurrence). During this time, he worked on a wide range of cases, including horizontal and vertical mergers, abuses of dominance (such as loyalty rebates, margin squeezes, discriminatory pricing and exclusivity arrangements), vertical restraints (including resale price maintenance and restrictions on online sales) and horizontal agreements involving information exchanges. His work has covered a broad set of industries, including online platforms, telecommunications, media, retail and pharmaceuticals.
Prior to this, John worked at the French Transport Regulatory Authority (Autorité de Régulation des Transports), where he analysed issues relating to infrastructure pricing and network access. He has also held academic research and teaching positions, with research focusing on competition in public procurement and applied micro-econometrics.
John holds a PhD in Management Science from the Sorbonne Business School, as well as a Master’s degree in Public Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Economics. He is fluent in French and English.
