RBB team advises on Sun International/Peermont merger

In February 2024, a large merger involving the acquisition of Peermont by Sun International was notified to the South African Competition Commission.  Following the Commission’s investigation, the matter was initially set to be heard before the South African Competition Tribunal in May 2025, with the dates later being pushed back to August/September 2025.  In early July 2025, the merging parties terminated the proposed transaction by mutual agreement.
