RBB’s comments to electricity inquiry released

On 4 December the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) released the submissions made in response to its Preliminary Report into the supply of retail electricity and the competitiveness of retail electricity prices in Australia.

RBB provided a submission to the ACCC and argued that the ACCC has not established that the high electricity prices across Australia are the result of insufficient competition in either the wholesale or retail electricity markets and that the findings set out in the report did not support the heavy-handed solutions that the ACCC has flagged as the likely measures to help ease the pressures on electricity prices for households and businesses in Australia.
