Niklas Strand is a Principal in RBB's Stockholm office.
He has worked in the field of competition economics for 25 years’ and has experience of presenting economic testimony on behalf of clients involved in complex matters. He has appeared as an expert witness in arbitration panels and in Swedish courts on a number of high-profile cases. Niklas holds a Ph.D. from the Stockholm School of Economics and he has published in academic journals on e.g. pricing, merger simulation, and relevant market definition.
Niklas is listed as a Thought Leader in Competition Economics by Lexology in 2025 and also won the Clients Choice category in 2025.
Before joining RBB in 2014, Niklas was with another consultancy for five years preceded by eight years as a senior economist at the Swedish Competition Authority and two years at the Swedish Post and Telecom Regulator.
Niklas has experience from a wide range of sectors including telecom, banking, media, platform markets, transport, and forestry and has advised clients all over Europe with a particular focus on Sweden and Norway.
