    Iestyn Williams has worked in economic consultancy since 1998.  Over this period he has advised on numerous competition issues. This experience includes merger assignments covering sectors such as publishing, mining, cruises, healthcare, metals and grocery retailing, and involving work on European cases such as GE/Amersham, J&J/Guidant and Korsnäs/AD Cartonboardas well as on transactions considered by national authorities. Iestyn has also advised clients on restrictive agreements and abuse of dominance issues, as well as on sectoral and regulatory reviews.

    During the early part of his consulting career Iestyn specialised in energy cases, and he continues to work on assignments for clients competing in liberalised industries and at the interface with natural monopoly. This experience extends across the energy, telecoms and postal sectors, among others, and includes a period on secondment to UK telecoms regulator Ofcom.

    Prior to his consulting career Iestyn was an academic economist, specialising in the study of vertical and other contractual relationships between firms.
