RBB specialises in providing advice
on all economic aspects of competition law assignments. We offer
practical and professional advice that is effective, concise
and readily understandable to a non-economic audience. We draw
on our wide experience of competition issues and institutions,
and many years of working closely with Europe's leading law firms
in cases spanning all sectors of the economy.
We have worked across
a broad range of competition law settings, including merger,
cartel, and abuse investigations, litigation,
regulation, and restrictive agreements cases, at both European
and individual member state levels. Our team includes economists
who are fluent speakers in a range of European languages.
Where
appropriate, we are able to apply both the latest economic
theories and quantitative statistical and econometric techniques.
RBB
typically advises clients as part of an integrated team, including
external legal and other advisers. Our role within
that team varies
from case to case, depending on the requirements of the specific
case, but our experience includes:
- Assisting in the assessment
of regulatory risk by identifying the main potential competition
concerns and developing the economic
strategy to address them.
- Preparing independent economic reports and
analyses. These are either submitted as part of the clients'
main submissions or as
stand-alone economic expert reports.
- Assisting and participating
in meetings with the competition authorities, including the
presentation of economic analysis and expert reports,
and the defence of our work under cross-examination.
- Providing commentary on and input into draft submissions.
