The OFT has recently cleared unconditionally the completed acquisition of Classic Hospitals Group Ltd by Fox Healthcare Acquisitions Ltd, part of Cinven Group Ltd which controls Spire Healthcare Limited. In response to the OFT’s focus on local competition issues, the parties provided substantial analysis to demonstrate that sufficient competitive constraints remained from rival private hospitals including NHS Private Patient Units.
